Strength in the Glorious Man

4 On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was standing on the bank of the great river (that is, the Tigris) 5 I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, a man clothed in linen, with a belt of fine gold from Uphaz around his waist. 6 His body was like beryl, his face like the appearance of lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and the sound of his words like the sound of a multitude.
Daniel 10:4-6

Strength in the Glorious Man
Daniel is overwhelmed by the vision of a glorious Man, clothed in linen and radiant with heavenly brilliance. This figure, terrifying in majesty, reflects the holiness and power of God, a glimpse that leaves Daniel trembling and speechless. This vision is connected to the pre-incarnate Christ, the eternal Son who would later veil His glory in human flesh. When we are confronted with God’s holiness, like Daniel, we are undone. Our sin cannot stand in the presence of such glory. Yet the same Christ who appeared in dazzling splendor also humbled Himself unto death, death on a cross, for us. His radiant face was once bloodied and marred so that we might be forgiven. Though the weight of sin and struggle may leave us weak, in Christ we are lifted up. In Him, we find strength not in our worthiness, but in His grace.
