Truth Has Risen
27 “So you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not listen to you. You shall call to them, but they will not answer you. 28 And you shall say to them, ‘This is the nation that did not obey the voice of the Lord their God, and did not accept discipline; truth has perished; it is cut off from their lips.
29 “‘Cut off your hair and cast it away;
raise a lamentation on the bare heights,
for the Lord has rejected and forsaken
the generation of his wrath.’
Jeremiah 7:27-30

Truth Has Risen
The Word must be declared. They will not listen. The Son of Man must be rejected and handed over to the Gentiles, mocked, spit upon, and crucified. The Word of God is met with intolerance. They will not listen. The Lord commands, "You shall speak all these words to them." The sin of the world must be paid for. God keeps his promises. It is through the Word that salvation comes. It is this Word that must become flesh and dwell among us that will save us by dying. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Truth has perished and truth has risen again. He has risen for you. He paid for your sins with his blood and he claims you in the spoils. Wrath has been poured out on Jesus so that you would live. So the Holy Spirit changes unbelieving hearts and opens ears to hear and plants faith to believe the Word declared.
