Opened Hearts

30 The man answered, “Why, this is an amazing thing! You do not know where he comes from, and yet he opened my eyes. 31 We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him. 32 Never since the world began has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a man born blind. 33 If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.” 34 They answered him, “You were born in utter sin, and would you teach us?” And they cast him out.

Opened Hearts
This is an amazing thing! This God dwells where his people are. We cannot miss the importance of this upon our lives. The world is full of gods that require you to do and yet in our blindness, we cannot ascend to their requirements. This God, sees your afflictions, hears your cries for mercy, knows your suffering, and comes down to deliver you. He knows the whole situation. He is aware of our great need. He has found us dead in our trespasses and has delivered us by the blood of his Son. God listens to those who call upon him in faith. Faith in Jesus opens the eyes of the heart. No matter our affliction, it connects us to our Lord who condescends to dwell where you are. This is the Jesus who is delighted to be with you and me. This is the God-Man that fights for us and with us in our battles. By faith, we hear this Word and we rejoice that we who were born in utter sin have been rescued by the God of love.
