Misunderstood Yet Faithful

7 After this Jesus went about in Galilee. He would not go about in Judea, because the Jews were seeking to kill him. 2 Now the Jews’ Feast of Booths was at hand. 3 So his brothers said to him, “Leave here and go to Judea, that your disciples also may see the works you are doing. 4 For no one works in secret if he seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, show yourself to the world.” 5 For not even his brothers believed in him.

Misunderstood Yet Faithful
Even Jesus’ own brothers failed to believe in Him. They saw His miracles, heard His words, and yet dismissed Him. Unbelief often hides under a cloak of familiarity; those closest to Jesus thought they knew Him best, yet they missed who He truly was. How often do we, too, misunderstand God’s ways? We expect glory without the cross, victory without suffering. But Christ’s path led straight to Calvary, where His rejection by enemies and family alike became our salvation. At the cross, the One misunderstood bore the world’s sin, including ours, so that even doubters and sinners might be forgiven. Faith clings not to appearances but to Christ crucified, where God’s love shines through suffering. Because of the cross, we can trust that even when His ways seem hidden, His mercy is certain, and His promises stand firm.
