Will You Also Go Away?

66 After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him. 67 So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you want to go away as well?”

Will You Also Go Away?
The crowd wanted a Messiah of power, not a Savior who gives His flesh for the life of the world. When Jesus spoke of His body and blood, many turned back. The cross always offends, for it exposes our sin and crushes our pride. Like the disciples, we are confronted with the question: Will you leave when Christ’s way leads through suffering, shame, and death? Yet the One who asks this question also bears the answer for us. On the cross, Jesus gives His life into death to win forgiveness, life, and salvation. He alone has the words of eternal life, words that raise the dead and comfort the broken. When doubts come, when the way grows dark, we cling to the crucified and risen Christ, trusting His promises. For in Him alone is life, even when the world turns away.
