Glory from God

41 I do not receive glory from people. 42 But I know that you do not have the love of God within you. 43 I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him. 44 How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?

Glory from God
The Lord Jesus is sent by the Father. He is not received by his own people. Jesus is rejected and despised. But in the glory of the Father, Jesus comes to work light and life in the midst of darkness and death. We have not honored him as we should. Men have not given glory to him and yet he fulfills the will of the Father. He dies that you would have the forgiveness of sins and eternal life in him. This is the One that fulfills all the promises of old. The enmity between the woman’s Seed and the devil has been settled. The battle may linger, but the war is over. The glory of the Father now shines on you. Jesus covers you and makes you his own.
