Light That Exposes and Heals

19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

Light That Exposes and Heals
We often hide in the shadows, clinging to sin because we fear the light will expose our shame. Jesus tells us that darkness is our natural refuge, for by nature we love evil rather than good. But the light of Christ does more than merely reveal; it heals. He is not a cold spotlight of condemnation but the warm, saving light of the cross. There, all our dark deeds were laid upon Him. In His suffering and death, our guilt was answered. Now, by faith, we come into His light, not to boast of our works, but to live in truth, that our deeds are done in God, shaped by His mercy. The cross drives away our fear. Christ shines on us with forgiveness, drawing us from the shadows into His marvelous light. Let us daily walk in this light, confessing sin, receiving grace, and reflecting His love.
