What is in Man?
23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many believed in his name when they saw the signs that he was doing. 24 But Jesus on his part did not entrust himself to them, because he knew all people 25 and needed no one to bear witness about man, for he himself knew what was in man.

What is in man?
Jesus knew what was in man. It was for this reason that he came into the world. The saying is trustworthy: Jesus came into the world to save sinners. However, he does not just come down for a visit like he did in years gone by. The time was right; he comes in the actual flesh of man in order to pay the debt man owes because of his sin. The God-Man comes under the law to redeem you who are under the law. Jesus comes to die on the cross and make new what our own sin destroyed. He entrusts himself to the will of his Heavenly Father. He offers up his own life to make us children of that Father and his own brothers and sisters. He comes that the very feast all Jerusalem celebrates would be complete and realized in them and you even to all eternity.
