47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit!” 48 Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49 Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”

My God and King (Lord)
Do you believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those that believe and yet have not seen me. This is the miracle of faith. We believe in that which we cannot see. One day we will see, but now we see by faith. We taste and see that the Lord is good. Nathanael saw, but he believed by faith in the One that died and rose again. He believed in the One who showed his hands and side to Thomas. He believed in the One who offers you his body in the bread and his blood in the wine. Jesus knows you, and he comes to forgive you and make you new. He sees you before you were called and even when he formed you in your mother’s womb. He is your God and your King. He fights for you and makes you his own. He never leaves those whom he has called. Jesus has called you. You are a child of God.
