Light in the Darkness

4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
John 1:4-5

Light in the Darkness
The darkness of this world is not just metaphorical; it is the deep shadow of sin, death, and unbelief that has enveloped humanity since the fall. But into that darkness, the Light entered. Christ, the eternal Word, came bringing life that no darkness could overcome. This “light” is not merely knowledge or morality; it is Christ Himself, the incarnate Son of God, shining with the radiance of divine truth and grace. On the cross, it looked like darkness had finally won. The Light was snuffed out, sealed in a tomb. But even there, the darkness could not overcome Him. Easter morning shattered the night. Christ’s resurrection declares that sin, death, and the devil are defeated. In your Baptism, that same victorious Light now shines in you. No matter how deep the darkness seems, it cannot extinguish Him. The Light still shines for you in Christ.
