Heaven Moves for You

20 While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my plea before the LORD my God for the holy hill of my God, 21 while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the first, came to me in swift flight at the time of the evening sacrifice. 22 He made me understand, speaking with me and saying, “O Daniel, I have now come out to give you insight and understanding. 23 At the beginning of your pleas for mercy a word went out, and I have come to tell it to you, for you are greatly loved. Therefore consider the word and understand the vision.

Heaven Moves for You
Daniel, weighed down by sin and pleading for God’s mercy on behalf of his people, receives an immediate response. While he was still praying, Gabriel arrived with a message: Daniel is “greatly loved.” What comfort this brings! Daniel confesses not just the sins of others but includes himself among the repentant. And heaven responds, not with wrath, but with grace. We, too, come before God daily, confessing our sin and pleading for mercy. Like Daniel, we are not heard because of our righteousness but because of God’s great mercy shown through Christ crucified. At the cross, God’s love for sinners is revealed in full. There, your prayers are heard and your sins forgiven. You are greatly loved, not because you’ve earned it, but because Christ earned it for you. In Him, heaven moves. In Him, the Father listens. So pray boldly, knowing that for Jesus’ sake, God delights to answer.
