Ancient of Days
9 “As I looked,
thrones were placed,
and the Ancient of Days took his seat;
his clothing was white as snow,
and the hair of his head like pure wool;
his throne was fiery flames;
its wheels were burning fire.
10 A stream of fire issued
and came out from before him;
a thousand thousands served him,
and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him;
the court sat in judgment,
and the books were opened.
Daniel 7:9-10

Ancient of Days
In the name of the Father and the + Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. The Lamb in the midst of the multitude takes his seat. Daniel sees the great Ancient of Days. It is granted to him to see visions of the judgment and the end of days. He who created the heavens and the earth brings it to its end. All things will be brought to an end, but the Word of the Lord will endure forever. The judgment will make known all things. Where will you flee when your sins are judged? Flee to the wings of the Almighty. Flee to the blood of Jesus’ cross. It is only in the work of Jesus that we are made innocent and pure again. We are declared righteous because Jesus has died and rose again. We are justified before God for Jesus’ sake, and we live with him forever. Alleluia! Christ is Risen! In the name of + Jesus. Amen.
