Without a Scratch

21 Then Daniel said to the king, “O king, live forever! 22 My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths, and they have not harmed me, because I was found blameless before him; and also before you, O king, I have done no harm.” 23 Then the king was exceedingly glad, and commanded that Daniel be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.

Without a Scratch
Daniel's calm reply from the lion’s den reveals the quiet confidence of faith. Though unjustly accused and cast into certain death, Daniel trusted not in himself but in the mercy of God. The same Lord who shut the lions' mouths sent His angel to preserve Daniel, declaring him innocent before God and man. His rescue is not just a triumph of courage, it is a witness to the faithfulness of a God who saves. Yet Daniel's deliverance points beyond itself. On the cross, Jesus was also declared innocent, yet He was not spared. He bore the full wrath of God, not for His own guilt, but for ours. Christ’s death and resurrection are the ultimate deliverance for sinners like us, granting eternal life and a righteousness that silences every accusation. In every trial, we rest in Him who saves, not always from suffering, but always through it, and ultimately, forever.
