Confidence in God's Mercy
14 Then Daniel replied with prudence and discretion to Arioch, the captain of the king’s guard, who had gone out to kill the wise men of Babylon. 15 He declared to Arioch, the king’s captain, “Why is the decree of the king so urgent?” Then Arioch made the matter known to Daniel. 16 And Daniel went in and requested the king to appoint him a time, that he might show the interpretation to the king.

Confidence in God's Mercy
Faced with a death sentence, Daniel did not panic. Instead, he responded with wisdom and faith. He sought time, not to scheme, but to pray and seek God’s mercy. Unlike the Babylonian wise men who despaired, Daniel knew that the Lord is faithful and hears His people’s cries. We, too, face trials that seem insurmountable. The world tempts us to trust in human wisdom or give in to fear. But like Daniel, we turn to the true source of wisdom, our merciful God. In Christ, we see God’s ultimate answer to our greatest need. At the cross, Jesus bore our sin and defeated death itself. His resurrection assures us that God’s mercy is steadfast and sure. No matter the challenge, we approach our Lord with confidence, knowing He hears and answers according to His perfect will. Lord, in every trial, turn our hearts to You in faith and trust.
