Widen Your Hearts

11 We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians; our heart is wide open. 12 You are not restricted by us, but you are restricted in your own affections. 13 In return (I speak as to children) widen your hearts also.

Widen Your Hearts
We think that we have little to no room in our hearts for anything else. And when we do have room, we restrict it for the things of our own pleasures. Your affections and the gods that you create restrict you. Your God, Jesus, has come to release you from all those bonds. He creates faith in your heart by the work of his Holy Spirit. That work clears out the secret places of the heart and makes room for a temple. Your God dwells in your heart. Fling open wide the doors of your heart and bear the burdens of your neighbor. Pray to your God that he would increase your faith and grow your love for your neighbor. Great and glorious things our God has done for you.
