Written On Our Hearts

3 Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? Or do we need, as some do, letters of recommendation to you, or from you? 2 You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all. 3 And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.

Written On Our Hearts
The Lord wants nothing to do with our hearts of stone. We have made our hearts cavernous black holes of sin and death. So, God performs a heart transplant and creates a clean heart for us and gives us his right Spirit. The Holy Spirit chooses to dwell in the hearts of the faithful. This is the Holy Spirit that ties us together in the bond of peace that Jesus' cross gave us. Christians are connected to the rest of the Church. Thus, the works and the words of the Church are written on our hearts. This is the proclamation in each of our lives. Christ Jesus has died and risen from the dead to save sinners. He claims the church, each congregation, each Christian, as his own. His victory is written by the Holy Spirit upon the hearts of his own.
