Merely Being Human
3 But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, 3 for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way? 4 For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not being merely human?

Merely Being Human
We have all inherited original sin from our father Adam. The human condition is a battle. The old Adam constantly is rearing his head and causing all kinds of chaos. The old Adam wants there to be multiple ways to heaven. The old Adam finds ways to follow anything but Jesus. But a new man has been planted in us. This is the work of the Holy Spirit to plant Jesus and his Word in your heart. Daily, by the spiritual milk of forgiveness and repentance, the old Adam is drown and a new man arises. The gifts of Jesus that were given to you when you first believed are here nourished and kept. Thanks be to God that you are a spiritual people, but more specifically a people of the Cross of Jesus. You have been saved by his blood.
