Your Master

Masters, do the same to them, and stop your threatening, knowing that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that there is no partiality with him.
Eph 6:9

Your Master
We all desire, at some level, to be the masters of our own destinies. We don’t want anyone to tell us what to do or when to do it. We want to call the shots. Unfortunately, when we are given that opportunity, we abuse our power. We lord it over those under our care. Paul warns us in this verse about such abuses of power. Heartfelt obedience cannot be achieved by threats of punishment. We should remember that God will not lessen His judgment because of our social status on earth and that all of us have a Master greater than us Who shows no partiality. Therefore, let us love one another as Christ loves us. Let us sacrifice for one another and uphold the bonds of brotherly love as fellow children of God. For we are served by God through Christ; therefore, we serve others in Christlike love.
