Put Away Falsehood

Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and give no opportunity to the devil. Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.

Put Away Falsehood
We live in a culture that says truth is relative. So it is no big surprise that people find it almost second nature to lie and mislead. But this should not be the Christian’s way. Lying is especially harmful when it happens between believers because we are all of one body, the Church. So, to lie to a fellow Christian is to poison your own body. Therefore, we put away falsehood and live in truth; that is, we live in the Truth. Jesus tells us He is the truth. Therefore, we live in this understanding. We look to the cross to see the honest answer to how bad our sins are and the price it took to wash them away. Thanks be to God that His truth reigns over all and that in His Truth we are reconciled to Him.
