8 And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; 10 concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; 11 concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

The Ruler of this World
The Holy Spirit convicts the world. The verdict is handed over. The work is accomplished by Jesus on the cross and the empty tomb. The Holy Spirit comes to testify of this work. The eternal condemnation of the world comes because they do not believe. The world rejects faith in Jesus Christ. In its unbelief, it is condemned. The work of Jesus is a victory that grants you his righteousness. You are wrapped in his righteousness. Without his righteousness, you cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. The ruler of this world is judged. The world is condemned. The sinful nature is undone. You have life and salvation by the Lord's doing. The Holy Spirit delivers it all to you.
