For The People

12 So the band of soldiers and their captain and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound him. 13 First they led him to Annas, for he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was high priest that year. 14 It was Caiaphas who had advised the Jews that it would be expedient that one man should die for the people.
John 18:12-14

For The People
Caiaphas did not know what he was saying. One man must die for the people, and not just the people of Israel, but for the whole world. The exchange doesn't seem fair: one man for all the others. Yet, this Man is the Son of God. He offers to God the perfect sacrifice. His blood covers the sins of the whole world. This is the One that redeems you. The Babe of Bethlehem is the prisoner of Caiaphas and the sacrifice for your salvation. This great exchange makes you like him. You have been made children of God by his blood. You have been made partakers of eternal life because of his love and mercy. Jesus is arrested, crucified, and risen again, and you are set free.
