Now I See

22 (His parents said these things because they feared the Jews, for the Jews had already agreed that if anyone should confess Jesus to be Christ, he was to be put out of the synagogue.) 23 Therefore his parents said, “He is of age; ask him.”
24 So for the second time they called the man who had been blind and said to him, “Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner.” 25 He answered, “Whether he is a sinner I do not know. One thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see.”

John 9:22-25

Now I See
We fear a lot of things. The Holy Scriptures teach us to fear only God. He has us in the palm of his hand, and he fights for us and with us. The enemies are defeated. Even so, our sinful nature likes the instant gratification of the glory of men. Amid this struggle, the Holy Spirit brings faith for the battle. He prepares us for the fight. He removes our heart of stone and puts in its place a heart of flesh. He nourishes and keeps the faith he has given and points us to Jesus for the fight ahead. We give glory to God for his work among us. Though we may be put out of situations of earthly glory, our names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
