The Scriptures Point to Christ

45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you: Moses, on whom you have set your hope. 46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me. 47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?”
John 5:45-47

The Scriptures Point to Christ
Jesus warns that rejecting Him is also rejecting Moses, for Moses wrote of Him. The Law given through Moses reveals God’s holy will, but it also exposes our sin. Moses does not stand as our advocate apart from Christ, he accuses us. The Scriptures are not merely a moral guide; they are God’s testimony about His Son. To read Moses rightly is to see the promises that find their “Yes” in Jesus, who came to fulfill the Law on our behalf. On the cross, Christ bore the curse the Law pronounces on sinners. His death is the answer to Moses’ accusations, and His resurrection is the vindication of all who believe. Faith receives the righteousness of the One to whom all Scripture points. Apart from Christ, Moses condemns. In Christ, Moses’ words become the very testimony of God’s saving grace.
