Strengthened by the Word

10 And behold, a hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees. 11 And he said to me, “O Daniel, man greatly loved, understand the words that I speak to you, and stand upright, for now I have been sent to you.” And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood up trembling.

Strengthened by the Word
In Daniel’s weakness, a hand touches him, and a voice calls him “man greatly loved.” Though trembling and low, Daniel is not cast away. He is lifted up by the Word. So it is with us. When fear grips us, when trials overwhelm, when sin accuses, our strength is gone. Yet the Lord does not abandon us. In mercy, He speaks. Through His Word, He lifts us from the dust and reminds us who we are: beloved in Christ. The angel’s words point to the Gospel, God’s favor not based on merit, but on His steadfast love. At the cross, Jesus bore our sin and death to make us God’s treasured people. In Him, we are not forgotten, but dearly loved. Like Daniel, we rise not by our strength but by the Word that declares us forgiven and redeemed. In Christ crucified, we are upheld and never alone.
